Hanako – Soul of the Samurai to Embrace New Unreal Engine 4

ATLANTA. April 9th, 2014. +Mpact Games has officially begun pioneering the new Unreal Engine 4, as it migrates its freshman title, Hanako – Soul of the Samurai from Unreal Development Kit to the new game engine. The team will explore the advantages of this new game engine, and hopes to demonstrate its progress for players and developers interested in embracing the new technology.

“We’re very excited to jump ship to UE4 as soon as possible. This will allow us to develop our game at a higher quality level and not be up against father-time, trying to get the game out before the technology becomes outdated,” said Matt Canei, Creative Director on the project. “This new engine will afford way more flexibility for release, and hopefully much higher odds of success on our future kickstarter campaigns and marketing efforts. We hope to not only provide captivating gameplay and beautiful artwork for players, but also help build a strong community and help other developers interested in the engine.”

The development team hopes to begin crowdfunding campaigns when the game is near the halfway point of production; to make sure that there will be playable content as soon as possible for its supporters.

+Mpact Games plans to release Hanako – Soul of the Samurai on Windows PC via Steam at some point in 2015.

+Mpact Games is a professional Indie game developer working on Hanako – Soul of the Samurai, a third-person, class-based online title. Players choose between multiple different types of Japanese warriors from a fictional rendition of the Sengoku Era of Feudal Japan (16th Century). Emphasis is placed on fluid, engaging combat and per-match training that allows players to customize their warrior’s to best suit the battle or their own play style.

About +Mpact Games
+Mpact Games was founded in 2009 to create exceptionally deep and meaningful games. Their first title, Hanako – Soul of the Samurai, began as a college project in 2008 and after a few years of development was sidelined while the team graduated and pursued personal endeavors. Back in June 2013, a new team was re-assembled, with all professional developers from all over North America to finish what was started back in 2009. We work an at-night, remote schedule since everyone works during the day with an out-of-pocket minimal budget, but we hope with successful campaigning we may obtain the funds needed to make Hanako – Soul of the Samurai a huge success.
